Senior Senator Hidayat Ullah Khan of the ANP assured elected representatives of Foreign Medical Graduates that his party will stand with the campaign after a meeting with Dr. Rafey Sher and Dr. Hisham Khan to discuss recent measures taken by the PMDC. The meeting reiterated the demand for fair treatment and urged political intervention to address the grievances of young doctors.
Earlier support from the Pakistan People’s Party added momentum to the campaign, following several constructive meetings led by Dr. Rafey Sher. PPP leaders offered positive commitments to pursue practical steps, reflecting growing cross-party attention to the issue of foreign medical graduates and their future in Pakistan.
Dr. Rafey Sher has also engaged with a range of political and social platforms, and most have expressed backing for the cause. Despite these endorsements, the PMDC has remained publicly silent and has not responded to calls for dialogue, a stance described by FMG representatives as stubborn and dismissive of legitimate concerns affecting thousands of junior doctors.
FMGs have united in resolve and declared they will not relent until a fair solution is secured. The movement emphasizes that the youth of Pakistan cannot be left without recourse and will continue to highlight the matter until justice is served. This sustained pressure aims to ensure equitable outcomes for graduates who trained abroad.
In recognition of his coordination efforts, Dr. Rafey Sher has been named Chief Coordinator Pakistan of the Association Justice for FMGs, a role intended to consolidate advocacy and present a unified national platform. Political support from ANP and earlier assurances from PPP strengthen the association’s mandate to press the PMDC for transparent and just resolutions.
