The federal minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi has strongly condemned India’s actions in Kashmir, marking August 5 as a dark day when, he says, the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people were taken away. He accused India of openly violating international laws through its measures in the region.

Khichi highlighted the severe and unacceptable human rights abuses faced by Kashmiris under Indian administration, and stated that recent illegal actions in Jammu and Kashmir were intended to change the area’s Muslim-majority status to a minority. He emphasized that these steps not only undermine local rights but also violate multiple United Nations resolutions.

Additionally, the minister pointed out efforts by India to erase Kashmir’s cultural identity, accusing the Indian government of working against the unique heritage of the region. He appealed to the international community to take notice of these abuses and so-called “black laws” that are being imposed on the Kashmiri people.

Khichi reiterated Pakistan’s unyielding support for the Kashmir cause, calling Kashmir the “jugular vein of Pakistan,” and affirmed that the entire Pakistani nation stands firmly with the Kashmiri people in their struggle.
