**Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet Approves Compensation for Martyrs’ Families, Plans All Parties Conference on Security**

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, has approved significant compensation packages for the families of security personnel and civilians martyred during incidents of Indian aggression and terrorism. The cabinet also resolved to convene an All Parties Conference (APC) to address the province’s deteriorating law and order situation through a collaborative approach.

During its 35th meeting, attended by cabinet members and relevant administrative secretaries, the cabinet approved compensation of Rs. 5 million for each family of those martyred in Indian hostilities, and Rs. 10 million for the heirs of Maulana Khanzeb, who lost his life in a recent terrorist incident. The Chief Minister, while expressing concern, emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the bereaved families and maintaining provincial security.

Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Gandapur announced the government’s intention to call an APC in the coming week, inviting representatives from all political parties. He emphasized the need for joint consultation and a unified strategy to ensure sustainable peace. Gandapur highlighted that government and local elders’ efforts have helped restore order specifically in Kurram district, and stressed upon replicating such collaborative measures in other districts as well.

The cabinet deliberated on reforms to Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) law, deciding that future enforcement will require prior approval from the provincial Home Department. This measure aims to curb the misuse of the MPO, which Gandapur compared to the notorious FCR law and noted its frequent misuse.

On disaster preparedness, Chief Minister Gandapur underscored that natural disasters can strike anywhere and should not be politicized. He reiterated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s readiness to assist other provinces, underlining the necessity of solidarity during times of calamity.
