The Captain Ahmad Mubeen and Zahid Akram Gondal Shaheed Lahore Police Inter-District T20 Cricket Tournament 2025 kicked off with an opening ceremony at the Punjab University campus, featuring seven teams from various Lahore Police subdivisions and an opening victory for the Anti-Riot Force. Senior police officials used the event to highlight the tournament’s role in promoting fitness, discipline and camaraderie among personnel.

The opening ceremony was attended by DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar as chief guest. The tournament brings together seven teams representing the Elite Force, Anti-Riot Force, City Traffic Police, Investigation Wing, Dolphin Force, Operations Wing and a CCPO XI team, competing in a short-format T20 competition.

The tournament’s first match produced an exciting contest, with the Anti-Riot Force defeating the Elite Force by 21 runs. Organizers say a full slate of fixtures will follow, including upcoming matches pitting the City Traffic Police against the Elite Force and the Investigation Wing against the Dolphin Force.

Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana underlined the wider aims of the event, saying that encouraging participation in sports helps promote physical fitness while also fostering discipline and teamwork within the force. He added that such activities help build a positive, community-oriented image of the Lahore Police and boost personnel morale.
