COMSATS University will host Pakistan’s largest inter-university Tap Ball Tournament from October 13 to October 15, bringing together 16 universities to showcase youth talent and expand opportunities in cricket.
Mohammad Riyan, Director-General of COMSATS University, has been entrusted with organizing the event and has pledged to stage a high-quality tournament. He said, “Inshallah, we will organize this Inter-University Tap Ball Cricket Council at a very high level, so that this first-ever event in Pakistan’s history becomes the largest event of its kind.”
The Pakistan Tap Ball Cricket Council has played a central role in planning. According to Muhammad Ishtiaq Kayani, Secretary-General of the council, they selected Director Riyan after careful consideration and are confident in his leadership. Naqash Jatt, President of the council, also emphasized his team’s commitment to making the inter-university competition a success.
International support comes from Mohammad Rashid, Board Member of the International Tap Ball Cricket Council, who will attend as chief guest and has pledged full backing for the event. He noted plans to build on local momentum with future international youth tournaments involving Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh to help showcase children’s skills worldwide.
The Tap Ball Tournament at COMSATS aims to create a platform for emerging players across Pakistan, strengthen inter-university competition and raise the profile of tap ball cricket in the country.
