The Vice Chancellor of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman, visited the newly completed building of Pakistan’s first National Center for Livestock Breeding, Genetics & Genomics (NCLBG&G) in Rawat. The visit underscores the university’s commitment to advancing research and innovation in the livestock sector.
Accompanied by university officials, including the Registrar, Deans, Directors, and faculty members, Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman toured the center to inspect its state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms, and modern equipment. During the visit, Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Director of Planning and Development, and Dr. Ghulam Bilal, Central Project Director, gave a detailed briefing about the facility’s features and noted that minor finishing works are still underway and expected to conclude within the coming month.
Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman praised the dedicated efforts of the project team and acknowledged the support of various university departments involved in establishing the center. He stressed the importance of developing similar specialized centers across Pakistan to bolster the livestock sector, improve productivity, and make a significant contribution to the national economy.
