Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) has won the “Marka-e-Haq” Inter-University Table Tennis Tournament, emerging as the leading team in a competition that brought together top talent from across Sindh province. The tournament, hosted by SEBS University in Jamshoro, celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day and attracted teams from seven universities.
In a thrilling final, the LUMHS table tennis team faced tough opposition from the University of Sindh. With determined play and competitive spirit, LUMHS secured victory, claiming the championship and earning recognition as the top team in the event.
Other participating institutions included SEBS University Jamshoro, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Sindh Agriculture University, Government College University Hyderabad, and Isra University Hyderabad. All teams competed fiercely for the prestigious trophy, making the tournament a showcase of athletic skill and university pride.
After the final, LUMHS Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Ikram Din Ujjan presented the winning trophy to the team. He praised their outstanding achievement and emphasized the importance of their success, dedicating the victory to the youth of Pakistan. Dr. Ujjan highlighted the university’s ongoing mission to promote sports alongside academic pursuits, stating that physical activity is essential for students’ intellectual and personal growth.
The tournament not only celebrated athletic excellence but also reinforced the value of sports in education and community spirit across Sindh’s academic institutions.
