Masjid Fatima Opens at PMAS Attock Campus

Masjid Fatima inauguration at PMAS-AAUR Attock Sub-Campus strengthens spiritual life and student welfare as VC reviews campus and orders facility upgrades.

The newly completed Masjid Fatima Al-Zahra at the PMAS-AAUR Sub-Campus in Attock was formally opened in a ceremony that combined spiritual observance with institutional commitment to student welfare. The new mosque is intended to support daily worship, communal gatherings and the moral development of students on campus.

Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman, Vice Chancellor of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, served as the chief guest and officially inaugurated the Masjid Fatima. The event drew deans, directors, faculty members, administrative officials and a large number of students, reflecting wide campus engagement in the project.

During the inauguration, the Vice Chancellor highlighted the role of places of worship in nurturing moral values, spiritual well-being and character building, noting that Masjid Fatima complements the university’s efforts to balance academic excellence with ethical development. He described the mosque as a key facility that will enrich campus life and support holistic student growth.

On the same visit, Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman conducted a thorough review of the Attock Sub-Campus, inspecting existing facilities and ongoing development projects. He expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved and directed the campus administration to ensure that all necessary amenities are provided to maintain a conducive learning environment.

The Vice Chancellor also urged continuous improvement, innovation and prudent use of resources to respond to the region’s expanding educational needs, emphasizing that strong infrastructure and thoughtful planning are essential for sustained academic progress.

Dr. Rifat Hayat, Director of the Attock Campus, thanked the Vice Chancellor along with faculty and staff who contributed to completing the mosque. He outlined plans for further academic expansion, strengthened research facilities and improved student services, reaffirming the campus’s commitment to becoming a centre of excellence aligned with PMAS-AAUR’s mission.

Masjid Fatima is expected to become a focal point for spiritual activity and community-building at the Attock Sub-Campus, enhancing student life and supporting the university’s broader goals for regional educational development.
