Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal attended the Health Device Association annual meeting as guest of honour and addressed attendees, stressing that development must come from fair distribution of resources rather than reliance on loans. He said “Pakistan will not advance through development loans but through fair allocation of resources, and the true test of leadership has always been character.”

Mr Kamal announced that the medical devices registration process now completes in just 20 days, a move described by organisers as an important step toward industrial transparency and adoption of modern international standards. The shortened timeline for medical devices registration aims to simplify regulatory procedures while aligning with global norms.

On the occasion, several renowned experts were recognised with lifetime awards for their contributions to the sector. The ceremony highlighted coordination between regulators and industry to promote transparency and improve standards for medical devices in the country.

The minister reiterated the connection between good governance and sectoral progress, underlining that fair resource distribution and principled leadership remain central to sustainable development and institutional reform.
