Medicine Barcoding and App Initiatives Reviewed by DRAP

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Health, Syed Mustafa Kamal, chaired a review meeting to evaluate progress on drug barcode systems, a dedicated mobile application, and the data backup mechanism aimed at ensuring transparent and efficient drug distribution and quality assurance procedures nationwide.

During the meeting, the CEO of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) presented an updated report on recent initiatives and their implementation status. Participants included the Secretary of Health, the Additional Secretary, and the Director-General of the Ministry of Health, who provided their insights and suggestions.

Participants emphasized the need for effective and transparent implementation of the systems to achieve the objectives outlined by the Prime Minister, primarily focusing on guaranteeing the availability of high-quality and safe medicines to the public.
