Authorities recovered a large quantity of government medicines during a targeted operation in the Sethi Town area of Peshawar, officials said. The district administration, working with health department drug enforcement teams, carried out the raid that resulted in two arrests linked to the illegal handling of state-supplied medicines.
The medicine seizure prompted swift action from local officials after intelligence pointed to the sale and hoarding of medications meant for public use. District administration teams and drug control officers inspected storage locations and seized the consignment to prevent diversion from the public health supply chain.
Captain (R) Sanaullah Khan, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, reiterated that a zero tolerance policy will be enforced against those involved in the unlawful trade of government medicines. He urged residents to cooperate with the administration and report suspected illegal activity so that further medicine seizure operations can protect community health and ensure essential supplies reach those in need.
