On International Mens Day Aamir Siddiqui urges respect and attention to men's health and family roles in Rawalpindi and across Pakistan.

Aamir Siddiqui, a social leader and president of a progressive welfare organisation, spoke in Rawalpindi on International Mens Day about the essential roles men play as fathers, brothers, sons and husbands in family life. He urged households to recognise the everyday sacrifices men make and to value the protection and stability they provide.

Mr Siddiqui noted that November 19 is observed as International Mens Day to acknowledge men’s contributions to society, family and community. He said the day is an opportunity to highlight men’s health issues and encourage public discussion about the pressures that affect men across Pakistan.

Emphasising mutual respect, he called on families to honour the man who shelters and supports them and to grant him dignity. While underscoring the equal importance of women and men, Siddiqui observed that domestic tensions sometimes place men in vulnerable positions and that abuse is not exclusively one-sided; awareness of this reality is needed when observing International Mens Day.

Siddiqui also drew attention to men’s physical and mental wellbeing, warning that long hours of work, business pressures and neglect of personal health—such as poor diet and not taking medicines on time—leave many men ill. He urged women to be mindful of men’s rights and wellbeing at home and for communities to encourage early care and support.

Highlighting the role men play in family and national progress through tireless effort, Aamir Siddiqui appealed for greater appreciation and practical support. He said observing International Mens Day should mean concrete steps to protect men’s health, uphold their dignity and recognise their contributions to Pakistan’s future.
