**Pakistan to Establish Metal Processing Zone in Gujranwala, Boosting Industrial Growth and Exports**

Pakistan is set to strengthen its industrial sector with the planned establishment of a dedicated Metal Processing Zone in Gujranwala. This major initiative, led by the Pakistan Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Metal Association (PFNFMA), aims to promote sustainable manufacturing, enhance export capacity, and ensure environmental compliance through close collaboration between public and private stakeholders.

A high-level meeting organized by PFNFMA served as the launchpad for the new industrial zone. The gathering brought together prominent figures from both industry and government, setting the stage for the development of a modern processing hub that will serve as a center of excellence for the metal sector. PFNFMA Chairman Ali Butt presided over the session, alongside Vice Chairman Nouman Naeem Bhatti and President Asim Jawaid, all emphasizing the association’s vision for a more efficient and competitive metal industry.

Representatives from key government bodies also took part, including Ms. Nadia Faruki, Director of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Lahore; Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, Director General of Environment Lahore; and Deputy Director Mr. Salman from Gujranwala. Their participation highlighted the government’s support and the strategic focus on integrating regulatory and environmental standards into the core of future industrial development.

The proposed Metal Processing Zone will be tailored to meet the needs of metal manufacturers by offering advanced infrastructure and specialized compliance services. Centralized waste management and streamlined production processes are designed to not only reduce environmental impact but also elevate the quality and competitiveness of Pakistani metal products in global markets.

This development signals a new phase in the country’s industrial advancement, offering significant potential to create jobs, attract investment, and expand Pakistan’s export footprint in both ferrous and non-ferrous sectors. Industry experts believe the zone will position Pakistan as a stronger player in the international metal trade, increasing the appeal of locally produced metal products abroad.

The PFNFMA expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their partnership and reiterated its commitment to fostering innovation and sustainable growth in the industry. The association called on industry participants and government agencies to remain actively involved as the project moves toward implementation, promising further updates as the Metal Processing Zone takes shape.
