Metropolitan Corporation Barred from Auctioning Tea Stalls and Snack Stores in Islamabad

Islamabad : The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) is not allowed to hold auctions of tea stalls and tuck shops after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued an injunction against the practice.

In response to a plea that was submitted by Anjuman Tajran (AT) Islamabad, a single bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), presided over by Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, decided to issue an injunction to stay the proceedings.

The court denied the request to change the statement that was made by the Director of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) during the hearing that took place before this one.

Anjuman Tajran (AT) Islamabad Islamabad had filed a challenge to the auction of tea stalls and tuck stores, which caused the matter to be placed before the court.

CDA to Conduct Plot Auction for Food Businesses in Islamabad

In court on Monday was Ajmal Baloch, the president of Anjuman Tajran (AT) Islamabad, who was accompanied by his legal representation.

The legal representative for the petitioner stated that it is contrary to the master plan for tea stalls and snack stores to be put up for auction in Islamabad.

Tea stalls and snack stores which are 1807 in numbers were about to be auctioned off, and the Metropolitan Corporation had marketed the event.

In response to the petition that Anjuman Tajran (AT) Islamabad submitted, the court granted an order to halt the proceedings of the case and postponed the hearing of the case indefinitely.
