The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board welcomed Environmental Science students from the University of Jhang, Punjab, to Margalla Hills National Park for an awareness session and hands-on learning experience. During the MHNP visit, students engaged directly with park staff to gain practical insight into protected area management.
Training covered environmental governance, conservation approaches, eco-tourism principles and community engagement strategies, providing a blend of classroom concepts and field-based practice. The hands-on elements were designed to give students a realistic view of conservation challenges and opportunities within Pakistan’s urban-adjacent protected areas.
The MHNP visit aims to empower the next generation of conservationists by linking university study with field exposure, reinforcing the role that informed youth can play in supporting biodiversity protection, sustainable tourism, and stronger local stewardship across the region.
