During a visit to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Gujar Khan, Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir met with senior Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi doctor Rafaqat Hussain. The minister was accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Population Asma Naz Abbasi and Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Waqar Hassan Cheema.

Dr Rafaqat Hussain informed the minister about alarming MLC irregularities detected in the post mortem report of his only son’s murder case. He cited a report from the Medical Legal Surgeon Department Punjab that points to serious procedural lapses by THQ Gujar Khan doctors and noted that an anti-corruption case related to the matter has been on file for more than a year.

Responding to the allegations, Khawaja Imran Nazir gave a firm assurance that the matter would be investigated transparently. The minister said that all available evidence will be reviewed and that strict action against responsible individuals will be initiated within 72 hours.

Dr Rafaqat urged authorities to deliver justice after more than a year of pursuing the case, reiterating his demand that those implicated for the MLC irregularities at THQ Gujar Khan be held accountable. Local officials said inquiries will proceed with close attention to the Medical Legal Surgeon Department report and related documentation.
