A delegation from the Maldives National University visited the University of the Punjab for a historic and insightful exchange that highlighted academic strengths and opportunities for collaboration. The MNU delegation held a detailed meeting with Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood, who outlined PU’s rich history, faculty achievements and the range of degree programs on offer.
The visit included a cordial lunch attended by the MNU delegation and officials from the Higher Education Commission alongside PU staff, providing a relaxed setting for further discussion on partnerships and student mobility. Informal conversations at the meal helped to deepen institutional links and identify areas of shared interest.
The delegation toured the expansive PU campus, visiting the central library, the historic Hailey College of Commerce, the University Club and other key facilities, gaining first-hand experience of the university’s academic and student life infrastructure. Observing these facilities allowed the MNU delegation to better appreciate PU’s educational environment and resources.
Later in the day an interaction session gave MNU and PU students the chance to meet and exchange ideas across academic and cultural lines, a valuable opportunity for peer learning and networking. The MNU delegation left the campus with strengthened ties and a clear foundation for future academic cooperation and student exchanges.
