Møns Klint, a striking coastal area on the Danish island of Møn known for its white chalk cliffs, has been officially recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This prestigious designation highlights the site’s unique geological and natural features, placing it alongside some of the world’s most significant cultural and natural landmarks.

The addition of Møns Klint brings the total number of UNESCO-listed sites across Denmark and Greenland to fifteen. These sites represent a diverse range of both cultural and natural heritage, including well-known destinations such as Kronborg Castle in Helsingør, famous for its association with Shakespeare’s Hamlet, and the Ilulissat Icefjord in Greenland, renowned for its dramatic glacial landscapes.

With this latest recognition, Møns Klint joins an exclusive group of locations celebrated for their universal value, further strengthening Denmark’s position on the global heritage map.
