Muslim Students Organization Rawalpindi organised a large student rally under the banner Azm-e-Azadi on Youm-e-Yakjehti-e-Kashmir, bringing together students, youth and citizens from diverse walks of life to show practical Kashmir solidarity. Participants filled the streets with banners and placards calling for the freedom of Kashmir and paying tribute to Kashmiri martyrs.
Rally participants marched peacefully while chanting slogans against Indian atrocities and urging the international community to take notice of the ongoing situation in occupied Kashmir. The demonstrations emphasised the need for global attention and concrete action, with speakers repeatedly invoking Kashmir solidarity as a central demand.
Speakers at the event described Kashmir as more than a territorial dispute, calling it a living issue for the Ummah and pointing to decades of what they described as Indian state terrorism. They highlighted the targeting of innocent children, women and the elderly, and criticised the silence of many international human rights organisations. The speakers warned that actions taken since 5 August 2019 have further deepened the crisis by attempting to suppress Kashmiri identity, freedom and basic rights.
The rally reiterated that the Kashmiri right to self-determination is recognised by United Nations resolutions and cannot be denied. Organisers paid tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir and renewed their pledge that Pakistan’s students and youth will remain steadfast in support of the Kashmiri struggle. Sufyan Abbasi, serving as the information secretary, said MSO Rawalpindi will continue to raise awareness about Kashmir on every forum and sustain efforts to mobilise youth in support of Kashmir solidarity.
