Muhammad Amir Malik appointed Member International Coordination at Pakistan's IT ministry to strengthen global tech ties, cybersecurity and digital trade.

The federal government has named Muhammad Amir Malik as the new Member (International Coordination) at the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication in a notification issued by the Establishment Division. The Prime Minister has approved the appointment on the MP-I scale, the highest tier of the Management Pay Scales.

Malik will serve on a three-year contract commencing from the date he assumes charge, under the terms of the MP Scales Policy, 2020. The appointment underscores the government’s intent to strengthen Pakistan’s engagement with global technology stakeholders.

In his new role, Muhammad Amir Malik will lead coordination with global technology companies, international digital platforms, multilateral institutions and development partners. His responsibilities include promoting cooperation in emerging technologies, advancing ICT infrastructure development, enhancing cybersecurity, facilitating digital trade and supporting investment and human capital partnerships.

As Pakistan seeks to accelerate its digital transformation and boost IT exports, the new Member (International Coordination) will be central to attracting foreign investment and expanding cross-border innovation. With growing global attention on cybersecurity and digital governance, Malik’s role is expected to reinforce Pakistan’s presence in the international digital economy and deepen collaboration with strategic partners.
