On 15 October 2025 Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal arrived in Cairo, Egypt to attend the World Health Organization’s 72nd Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean. He is accompanied by a high-level Pakistani delegation representing federal health priorities at the regional forum.
The meeting brings together member states to deliberate on public health policies, regional cooperation and the shared challenges facing the Eastern Mediterranean. Discussions are expected to focus on health system reforms, cross-border coordination and strengthening international support for public health initiatives.
During the visit Mustafa Kamal will hold a bilateral meeting with the Saudi Arabian minister of health to discuss enhanced two-way cooperation, ongoing and proposed projects, and measures for coordinated regional responses to health threats. The talks aim to reinforce practical collaboration between Pakistan and regional partners.
Pakistan’s participation underlines its commitment to working with WHO to advance public health cooperation at the international level. Mustafa Kamal’s attendance signals Islamabad’s intention to engage constructively on regional health policies and pursue collaborative approaches to shared health challenges.
