Mustafa Kamal met Saudi health minister in Cairo to discuss health cooperation, joint research and pharma investment to strengthen Pakistan-Saudi ties.

During the World Health Organization’s 72nd regional meeting in Cairo, Federal Minister of Health Syed Mustafa Kamal held a significant bilateral meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Health Minister Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel. The discussion provided a platform to deepen ties between Islamabad and Riyadh on shared health priorities.

The ministers exchanged views on sharing experiences from health sector reforms, expanding vaccination programs and launching joint research initiatives. Both sides emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing public health, with a particular focus on encouraging greater investment in the pharmaceutical industry to support regional capacity and access to medicines.

Saudi Minister Al-Jalajel commended Pakistan’s work on health reforms and immunization efforts and affirmed a commitment to stronger future cooperation. The meeting underlined potential avenues for enhanced research partnerships and pharma investment that could benefit Pakistan’s health system and bilateral relations.
