The National Book Foundation’s regional office in Lahore hosted the fourth installment of its monthly literary series Dialogue, bringing together writers, poets and readers for an evening of conversation about creativity, poetry and the literary life. The event featured poet and writer Khalid Sharif as the guest of honor and included an interactive conversation that highlighted his creative journey and the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to promote reading and literary culture.

Khalid Sharif shared insights into his literary and poetic development during a wide-ranging conversation that traced different phases of his career. The discussion explored his creative influences, the themes that inform his work, and his perspectives on contemporary literary practice.

The conversation was led by interviewer Salman Basit, whose questions prompted thoughtful reflections and an engaging back-and-forth with Sharif. Nazia Rehman moderated the session, guiding the dialogue and ensuring that the exchange remained focused and accessible to the audience.

The event was formally opened by Murad Ali Mohmand, Secretary of the National Book Foundation, who spoke on behalf of Managing Director Dr. Kamran Jahangir. Mohmand welcomed the assembled literary personalities, thanked attendees for their participation, and reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to fostering a vibrant reading and literary culture across Pakistan.

The Dialogue series is part of the National Book Foundation’s broader programme to connect writers, poets and readers through regular literary conversations. Organisers said the series aims to deepen appreciation for literature, strengthen cultural bonds and create opportunities for public engagement with creative voices.
