The National Youth Policy Dialogue in Dhaka brought together more than 80 young leaders from all 64 districts to develop policy recommendations that will help shape future political manifestos. Organized by Youth Engagement for Sustainability Bangladesh (YES) with support from the Y-Moves Project of Plan International Bangladesh, the multi-day event combined preparatory workshops with direct dialogue sessions involving high-level political leaders.
The program prioritized gender balance and inclusivity, ensuring broad geographic and demographic representation. Participants took part in a preparatory workshop designed to build consensus on key issues and frame proposals for the subsequent policy discussions. Dialogue sessions provided a platform for youth delegates to present their recommendations and engage directly with political figures.
Abdul Hannan Milton, Coordinator of IYCM Dhaka, represented his organization at the dialogue, contributing to the collective effort to amplify youth voices and push for more inclusive policy-making. Delegates focused on actionable recommendations intended to address the priorities of young people across the country.
Organizers say the outcomes of the dialogue will feed into political party manifestos and broader policy conversations, marking a significant step in youth-led engagement with national decision-making processes. The initiative reflects a growing emphasis on integrating youth perspectives into formal political planning and development agendas.
