The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and the All Pakistan Bedsheet & Upholstery Manufacturers Association (APBUMA) have reached an agreement to jointly implement industry-led vocational training under the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Program. The agreement, aimed at boosting skilled workforce development and aligning training with industry needs, represents a significant step toward enhancing youth employability within Pakistan’s textile industry.
The signing ceremony was led by NAVTTC’s Director General of Planning and Development, highlighting the organization’s commitment to practical and industry-oriented skills training. Representatives from APBUMA, whose industry insight and expertise will be crucial in ensuring that the training aligns closely with real job market demands, also attended the event.
Alongside them were the Director General of Standards, Skills, and Curriculum (SS&C) and members of the survey team, highlighting NAVTTC’s concerted approach toward standardizing high-quality curricula tailored specifically for the textile sector. Their presence underscored the collaborative approach adopted by NAVTTC to combine industry-specific standards with natively crafted courses, ensuring participants can directly transition into productive employment.
This partnership marks an important advancement within the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Program by establishing meaningful cooperation between governmental skill development initiatives and the private sector. Such collaborations promise significant improvements not only in youth employability but also in fuelling sustained industrial growth within the country, nurturing a skilled workforce prepared to tackle evolving market demands.
