NAVTTC and SIMAP sign an agreement to advance surgical instruments skills training and expand industry-led employment across Pakistan.

The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and the Surgical Instruments Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (SIMAP) have formalised an agreement to strengthen workforce capacity in the surgical instruments sector. The collaboration is intended to align training offerings with industry requirements and to create clearer pathways from skills development to employment.

Mr. Zafar Haider, Director General (Planning & Development) at NAVTTC, was present at the occasion and reaffirmed NAVTTC’s commitment to promoting industry-driven technical training and increasing job opportunities for trained workers. His remarks stressed the need for practical, market-oriented programs that prepare technicians for roles across medical device production and maintenance.

The partnership with SIMAP seeks to ensure that curriculum, on-the-job training and certification reflect the real needs of manufacturers in the surgical instruments field. By working directly with industry representatives, NAVTTC aims to improve the relevance of training, support quality standards and encourage local employment in medical manufacturing hubs.

This agreement underscores a shared interest in building a skilled workforce for Pakistan’s surgical instruments sector, supporting manufacturers while offering trainees concrete prospects for employment. NAVTTC and SIMAP expect the collaboration to help bridge skills gaps and promote sustainable industry growth through targeted, industry-led technical training.
