NBF and PAL launch a publishing partnership to co-publish 12 co-branded titles and strengthen access to Pakistani literature through institutional collaboration.

The National Book Foundation (NBF) and the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) have signed a Letter of Understanding to establish a new publishing partnership that will produce twelve co-branded titles aimed at enriching Pakistan’s literary landscape.

Dr. Kamran Jahangir, Managing Director of NBF, and Dr. Najiba Arif, Chairperson of PAL, led the signing ceremony and reaffirmed their organisations’ commitment to fostering cultural synergy and promoting high-quality literature through sustained institutional collaboration. The agreement formalises a cooperative approach to commissioning, editing and distributing works that reflect diverse voices across the country.

The publishing partnership is intended to create a platform for writers, translators and scholars by combining NBF’s publishing experience with PAL’s academic and literary reach. Both institutions described the initiative as a strategic step toward nurturing literary excellence and making a broader range of titles accessible to readers nationwide.

By co-branding these twelve titles, NBF and PAL aim to set a standard for collaborative publishing in Pakistan and to encourage further partnerships that support authors and celebrate the country’s literary heritage. The move underscores a shared vision for expanding readership, improving editorial quality and promoting cultural exchange through books.
