Read how NBF publications committee approved 18 of 39 manuscripts and adopted stricter SOPs to strengthen quality publishing and literary standards.

The Publications Committee met at the NBF Headquarters under the chairmanship of Dr. Kamran Jahangir to assess submitted manuscripts and reinforce publishing standards. Senior intellectuals, evaluators and reviewers from diverse literary fields joined the session to provide expert perspective on each submission.

Representatives from NBF included Mr. Murad Ali, Secretary NBF; Mr. Mansoor Ahmed, Deputy Director Textbooks; and Ms. Nazia Rehman, Incharge Publications, who presented a comprehensive briefing on every manuscript under review. Detailed deliberations followed as the panel examined literary merit, originality and alignment with the Foundation’s editorial policy.

Out of 39 manuscripts considered, the committee approved 18 titles and declined 21 after rigorous evaluation and in-depth discussion. The panel stressed the need for robust editorial oversight and resolved to implement stricter standard operating procedures for future publications to ensure consistent quality and credibility.

The outcome underscores NBF publications commitment to promoting authentic and impactful literary works. By tightening review protocols and prioritizing high-standard content, the committee aims to strengthen book culture and support meaningful scholarship across Pakistan.
