Dr Kamran Jahangir led talks at the NBF Faisalabad bookshop to plan events and a volunteer committee to boost Faisalabad literature.

At the National Book Foundation office and bookshop in Faisalabad, Dr Kamran Jahangir engaged with local writers, professors and intellectuals in a focused dialogue aimed at expanding literary activity across the region. The conversation centered on building sustainable platforms for readings, forums and collaborative projects to strengthen Faisalabad literature.

Participants discussed a programme of future literary collaborations and dialogue forums designed to connect writers, academics and cultural practitioners. Plans for cultural activities and community events were outlined to create regular opportunities for exchange and to raise the profile of local authors and literary work within the city.

A core committee of volunteers will be formed to lead these efforts and coordinate upcoming initiatives, with an emphasis on grassroots participation and continuity. The creation of this committee is intended to provide steady organisational support for events and to help implement the proposed dialogue forums and cultural programmes that will benefit Faisalabad literature.

Murad Ali Mohmand, Secretary NBF, and Ejaz Ahmed, Incharge NBF Faisalabad, attended the meeting to support and facilitate the discussions. Their presence underlined the foundation’s commitment to nurturing regional literary networks and ensuring practical follow through on the agreed plans.
