Evenings at the NCA Triennale took a lyrical turn on Day 14 as mesmerising ghazal and qawwali performances left the audience spellbound. The NCA Triennale atmosphere was charged with emotion as students delivered soulful and powerful renditions that celebrated Pakistan’s musical traditions.
The programme featured a standout performance by first year student Mohsin Fayyaz, whose ghazal recital drew praise for its depth and sensitivity. The dynamic student ensemble Mayon-e-Echar, composed of third year students, presented a vibrant qawwali set that paid homage to the musical heritage of northern Pakistan, weaving regional melodies and traditional motifs into contemporary arrangements.
NCA Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri commended the students’ dedication and artistic expression, underlining the importance of sustaining both classical and contemporary musical practices. His remarks highlighted the academy’s role in nurturing artistic talent and preserving cultural forms.
