A focused group discussion at the National Curriculum Council convened curriculum experts and stakeholders to map priorities for Curriculum Reforms and chart a practical way forward for Pakistan’s education system.
Held on the direction of the Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, the session brought together representatives from Pakistan Institute of Education (PIE), Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), National Rahmatul-lil-Alameen Wa Khatamun Nabiyyin Authority (NRKNA), Federal College of Education (FCE) and members of the private sector to deliberate on ongoing and emerging needs in curriculum design and delivery.
Participants unpacked key themes for future curriculum transformation, explored pathways to align curriculum content with both global benchmarks and national priorities, and emphasised measures to ensure inclusivity, relevance and improved quality across levels of schooling. The discussion focused on producing recommendations that are implementable within Pakistan’s institutional framework and sensitive to local classroom realities.
The insights and recommendations emerging from the meeting will guide the National Curriculum Council as it advances Curriculum Reforms, informing policy decisions and implementation planning to strengthen learning outcomes and equity in the education system.
