NCRC and UNICEF advance a national Child Rights Dashboard to strengthen data-driven policy, oversight and inclusion in Pakistan's child protection systems.

The National Commission on the Rights of the Child (NCRC), supported by UNICEF, convened a national consultation on the Integrated Child Rights Dashboard to underline that credible, timely data is essential to protecting every child in Pakistan. Representatives from the Social Welfare Department, Sindh Child Protection Authority, Home Department Sindh, Home Department Balochistan, Ministry of Human Rights, Punjab Police, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of National Health Islamabad, KPCPWC, Labour Department ICT and the Child Protection Institute Islamabad attended the session.

Speakers reviewed existing management information systems and explored the vision, architecture and functionality of a unified national platform. Delegates discussed how a coordinated Child Rights Dashboard can inform policy, strengthen accountability and ensure no child remains invisible in planning, monitoring and decision-making processes.

Deliberations examined the child rights governance landscape and identified gaps in oversight, monitoring, accountability and reporting that currently limit effective rights-based responses. Participants highlighted the need to harmonise data sources and standardise indicators so that authorities can respond faster and more effectively to protect children.

The consultation marked a key step toward building a harmonised, integrated and rights-based data ecosystem to support evidence-driven action across Pakistan. Stakeholders committed to continued collaboration to translate the dashboard vision into a functional platform that improves planning, monitoring and service delivery for children’s rights.
