NCRC Meets Balochistan Officials on Child Protection

NCRC member met Balochistan social welfare leaders to advance the Child Protection Policy and secure collaboration for child protection initiatives.

Advocate Abdul Hayee, Member Balochistan of the National Commission on the Rights of the Child, held a meeting with Mr. Nasir Dotani, Director General Social Welfare, and Mr. Bashir Rind, Deputy Director (Projection and Human Rights), to discuss the notification of the Balochistan Child Protection Policy.

The Director General and Deputy Director outlined plans to convene a stakeholders and civil society organisations meeting on the Balochistan Child Protection Policy and formally invited the NCRC member to participate and offer support to the process. The conversation focused on steps toward policy notification and broad engagement to strengthen child protection mechanisms in the province.

Both officials expressed appreciation for the work of the NCRC in Balochistan and assured full collaboration with the commission to advance child welfare and protection initiatives. Their assurances aim to ensure coordinated action between provincial authorities and rights bodies as the policy moves toward implementation.

The meeting highlights a concerted provincial effort to prioritise the Child Protection agenda and involve civil society in shaping practical measures for safeguarding children across Balochistan.
