H.E. Mr. Robert Jan Siegert, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, visited the National College of Arts on the occasion of the NCA Thesis Show 2025 and was received by Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafri, Vice Chancellor NCA, along with faculty and administrative leadership.
During the visit an introductory documentary on NCA was screened, highlighting the college’s academic legacy, artistic heritage and contemporary creative achievements. The presentation framed the NCA Thesis Show within the broader trajectory of the institution’s teaching, research and public exhibitions.
The Ambassador was briefed on NCA’s recently organised first Triennale, a landmark international event that brought artists from over 30 countries to Pakistan with exhibitions staged at NCA. The Triennale was described to him as a milestone in fostering international artistic exchange and cross cultural dialogue with curated projects and collaborative presentations.
Expressing appreciation for the progressive artworks and the institution’s forward looking vision, the Ambassador commended the quality and diversity of creative expression on display. He indicated keen interest in exploring a Memorandum of Understanding with NCA to promote artist and student exchange programmes, including joint residencies and collaborative initiatives between the two countries, a step that could strengthen cultural ties and institutional collaboration.
