ISLAMABAD, October 21, 2025 — Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, Parliamentary Secretary for Information & Broadcasting, attended the launch at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad where the India Study Centre hosted the unveiling of the book Jammu and Kashmir – The Forgotten Narrative by Saud Sultan.

The event was attended by Ambassador Masood Khan, former President of the State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, who joined as Guest of Honour and underscored the importance of preserving the historical record of the Kashmiri struggle.

In his address, Barrister Chaudhry commended Saud Sultan for bringing the forgotten story back into public discussion and stressed that rigorous scholarship is key to countering disinformation. “This book serves as an essential antidote to the historical amnesia imposed on the struggle of the Kashmiri people,” he said, noting how research-led work strengthens the Kashmir narrative at home and abroad.

The Parliamentary Secretary also highlighted the government’s commitment to intellectual freedom and to amplifying the just voice of the Kashmiri people across platforms. He praised ISSI and its India Study Centre for providing a consistent forum for reasoned debate and for promoting a fact-based national narrative on Jammu and Kashmir.

Organisers and participants said the launch reinforced the role of scholarship in preserving historical truth, encouraging further research and open exchange to ensure the Kashmir narrative remains grounded in documented evidence and principled discussion.
