The National Institute of Health (NIH) Pakistan, working with the Health Department Punjab and supported by The Global Fund, concluded a three-day All Hazards Rapid Response Team training and simulation exercise in Multan. The RRT training convened frontline health professionals and emergency responders to practice coordinated action and test existing response plans.
The practical simulation component of the programme allowed teams to rehearse rapid deployment, decision-making and inter-agency coordination under realistic conditions. Participants said the RRT training offered valuable hands-on experience that will help shorten response times and improve on-the-ground effectiveness during public health incidents.
Officials from NIH Pakistan and Punjab Health emphasized that ongoing drills and capacity building are central to strengthening provincial and national health security. With backing from The Global Fund, the initiative aims to ensure that frontline teams remain equipped with the latest skills and operational readiness to tackle any emerging public health threat.
By embedding simulation exercises into routine preparedness activities, the RRT training in Multan seeks to enhance responsiveness across health districts and support resilient emergency systems that protect communities across Punjab and beyond.
