World No 43 Noor Zaman captured the CAS Serena Hotels International Squash Championship at Mushaf Squash Complex in Islamabad after coming from two games down to beat compatriot Muhammad Hamza Khan in a thrilling five-game final on 28 November 2025.
The tournament, held from 24 to 28 November, was organized by the Pakistan Squash Federation in collaboration with Serena Hotels and featured seven Pakistani players alongside 17 world-ranked competitors from the Czech Republic, Egypt, Hong Kong China, Japan, Malaysia and Switzerland. Serena Hotels highlighted its Sports Diplomacy Initiative during the event, underlining a commitment to using sport to foster international ties and showcase Pakistan as a venue for top-level competition.
Noor Zaman overturned an early deficit, losing the first two games 9-11 and 7-11 before rallying to win the next three 11-7, 11-4 and 11-8, securing the championship title and adding a significant international victory to his rising career.
The closing ceremony was attended by Air Marshal Kazim Hammad, President of the Pakistan Squash Federation, who presented trophies and souvenirs. Air Vice Marshal Sohail Akbar, Senior Vice President PSF, Mr Fahim Inam, Chief Operating Officer Serena Hotels, squash legend Qamar Zaman, VP PSF Dr Riaz Khan and President Sindh SA Adnan Asad were among officials and supporters present to applaud the players and organizers.
The successful staging of the CAS Serena Hotels event at Mushaf Squash Complex strengthens Pakistan’s profile in international squash and provides valuable exposure for local talent, with Noor Zaman emerging as the standout performer of the week.
