**NUST Karwan-e-Hunar Interns Gain Firsthand Insight into Pakistan’s Disaster Management at NEOC**
Interns from the Karwan-e-Hunar Internship Program at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) recently visited the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Headquarters in Islamabad, where they were introduced to the country’s cutting-edge disaster management infrastructure and proactive strategies.
During the study visit, the interns received detailed briefings on innovative systems and technologies adopted by NEOC, which serve as the central hub for Pakistan’s advanced disaster early warning mechanisms. NDMA officials showcased the evolution of indigenous solutions and highlighted how NEOC plays a pivotal role in preparing for and responding to emergencies nationwide.
This exposure allowed students to gain valuable firsthand knowledge about disaster response operations and the critical importance of modern technologies in risk mitigation.
