Governor of Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, visited the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Islamabad campus to discuss opportunities for collaboration in youth empowerment, research commercialisation, and digital transformation. He was officially welcomed by Pro-Rector Planning & Resources, Maj Gen (Retd) Muhammad Arif Malik, who outlined NUST’s vision of academic excellence paired with impactful innovation to benefit Pakistan.
During his visit, Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan emphasized the potential for productive cooperation between NUST and the Punjab Government. Discussions focused on strategic partnerships that could enhance youth development initiatives, accelerate technology-driven solutions, and further advance the transformation of Pakistan’s economy toward digital and knowledge-based sectors.
NUST’s Pro-Rector, Maj Gen (Retd) Muhammad Arif Malik, presented a comprehensive overview of the institution’s strategy, highlighting a commitment to equipping students with relevant skills required in the rapidly evolving global landscape. The university’s vision, said the Pro-Rector, integrates high academic standards with innovative research aimed at serving broader national interests.
Governor Khan praised NUST’s leading role in Pakistan’s higher education scene, acknowledging the university’s exemplary efforts in conducting groundbreaking research, forging meaningful industry partnerships, and strengthening community outreach.
