NYCCC CEO Calls for Green Pakistan Leadership

NYCCC CEO urges youth climate leadership and sustainable development for a Green Pakistan at YPDC and COMSATS event in Islamabad.

YPDC, Pak Saaf Pakistan and COMSATS University Islamabad convened an event on the theme “A Green and Sustainable Pakistan”, drawing motivated youth, environmentalists and changemakers from across the country to discuss practical steps for climate action in Pakistan.

M Umair Mufakir, CEO of NYCCC, attended as the chief guest and delivered an inspiring address that stressed the role of youth engagement and climate leadership in building a Green Pakistan. He highlighted how sustained youth participation and local initiatives can drive sustainable development goals at community and national levels.

Fatima Faraz Hoti, a young climate activist, spoke about empowering young people to take environmental action and shared perspectives on grassroots mobilisation, awareness campaigns and partnerships that can accelerate a Green Pakistan agenda.

The organisers emphasised collaboration between civil society, academia and youth groups as essential to long-term progress. The YPDC team behind the event included Areej Nazakat, Mah Noor, Iqra Ameer, Ammar Tayyab and Hadia Khalid, whose efforts contributed to a productive conversation on climate leadership and sustainable development for Pakistan.
