OIC-COMSTECH Delegation from Azerbaijan Visits UOL

A high-level eight-member delegation from the Institute of Botany, Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited the University of Lahore to take part in an international workshop on nature-based medicinal and cosmetic products, strengthening academic and research ties between the institutions and international partners.

The delegation, facilitated by OIC-COMSTECH, attended the workshop organized by the University of Lahore’s Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. The visit formed part of ongoing efforts to promote collaboration on research and development of plant-based medicinal and cosmetic innovations.

Professor Muhammad Ashraf, rector of the University of Lahore, welcomed the Azerbaijani delegation and expressed appreciation for the role of COMSTECH in enabling the exchange. He also extended thanks to Professor M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of COMSTECH, for facilitating the collaboration between the institutions.

Professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, director general of the Institute of Botany, highlighted the importance of joint academic and research initiatives in advancing medicinal and cosmetic sciences. She called for continued partnerships to leverage botanical expertise and shared resources for mutual benefit.

The workshop brought together national and international experts, researchers, and participants to exchange knowledge, discuss best practices, and explore collaborative research opportunities. The University of Lahore, a member of the Consortium of Excellence, emphasized that such engagements are key to strengthening academic networks and translating research into practical, nature-based products.
