The Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (OIC-COMSTECH), together with the University of Modern Sciences, Tando Muhammad Khan, Gourmet Foods and local health authorities, will run a two-day Free Medical Camp at Civil Hospital, Chachro on 30 and 31 January 2026 to serve remote communities in Tharparkar.
The camp will provide free medical consultations, basic diagnostic tests and complimentary medicines to patients who have limited access to healthcare. A special emphasis on eye care means qualified eye specialists will conduct vision screening and eye examinations, with free distance vision glasses dispensed to deserving patients after testing to address common visual impairments.
A team of qualified doctors from Indus Medical College will join COMSTECH officials, representatives of the District Administration and the District Health Department, Government of Sindh, to ensure coordinated service delivery. Gourmet Foods has supported the humanitarian effort, and local health staff will help manage patient flow and follow-up care.
The Free Medical Camp aims to benefit a large number of residents, particularly women, children and the elderly, while also raising health awareness across the area. The initiative reflects OIC-COMSTECH’s ongoing commitment to improving access to basic healthcare in marginalised and hard-to-reach parts of member states like Tharparkar.
