OIC Official meets Palestine ambassador on Gaza humanitarian crisis and West Bank violations, highlighting OIC efforts to advance the Palestinian cause.

On 23 October 2025, H.E. Amb. Samir Bakr, Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and Al-Quds Ash-Sharif, received H.E. Eng. Mazen Ghunaim, the Palestine ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah.

The discussion focused on recent developments across the Occupied Palestinian Territories, with particular attention to the severe humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and the escalating systematic violations by Israeli forces in the West Bank. The Palestine ambassador and the Assistant Secretary-General exchanged assessments of the humanitarian and political implications unfolding on the ground.

They reviewed the OIC’s comprehensive efforts at diplomatic, political and humanitarian levels to advocate for the Palestinian cause, underscoring the matter as a principal priority on the organisation’s political agenda. The conversation highlighted continuing measures to mobilise international attention and coordinate relief efforts.

For OIC member states, including Pakistan, the talks in Jeddah reinforce the bloc’s sustained focus on Palestinian rights and humanitarian relief. Both sides stressed the need for ongoing coordination to address urgent needs and to press for respect of international law in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
