A high-scoring festival match at the Oval Ground of Government College University Lahore ended in a 206-all tie, leading to the trophy being shared between the Old Ravians XI and the Vice Chancellor XI in a 20-over contest.

The fixture, organised by the Old Ravians Union in collaboration with the GCU Sports Board, drew several notable former Pakistan cricketers including Saleem Malik, Mohammad Hafeez and Aamir Sohail, alongside prominent alumni. International umpire Aleem Dar, actor Khalid Abbas Dar and GCU Director Sports Muhammad Waseem were also in attendance to mark the traditional winter-season meeting.

GCU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry captained the Vice Chancellor XI while ORU President Athar Ismail led the Old Ravians XI. After winning the toss, the Old Ravians batted first and posted 206 for 4 in their 20 overs with Athar Ismail contributing 46, Muhammad Ali adding a brisk 70 and Saleem Malik making 24.

The chase was anchored by Muhammad Ayaz, who compiled a century to help the Vice Chancellor XI reach the same total of 206 in the allotted overs, ensuring the trophy was shared between the two sides after a hard-fought contest.

Speaking after the match, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry said the gathering sent a clear message to current students that the Ravian bond remains strong across generations and that alumni engagement continues to shape GCU’s culture. ORU President Athar Ismail noted that the festival fixture gives Old Ravians a chance to reconnect with one another and with their alma mater, and that participation by overseas alumni and leading cricketers reflected the unity of the Ravian community.
