The 7th Grand National Olive Gala 2025 opened today at F-9 Park, Islamabad, drawing a broad cross-section of the olive sector and development partners to celebrate and advance Pakistan’s olive value chain. The opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, who highlighted the event’s role in promoting sustainable production and market competitiveness.
Speeches at the inauguration underlined the Olive Gala’s international and technical dimensions. Dr. Salvatore Parano, Italian Trade Commissioner, spoke on bilateral cooperation opportunities, while Dr. Marcello Golletti, International Project Coordinator of the OliveCulture ScaleUp Project, emphasized scaling innovation. Dr. Muhammad Tariq, National Project Director of the PSDP PakOlive Project, outlined national efforts to strengthen cultivation, processing, and quality assurance.
The Olive Gala brought together senior government officials, international delegates, development partners, farmers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders from across Pakistan. An expansive display of stalls showcased provincial participation and organizational engagement, offering producers and businesses a platform to present technologies, products, and best practices relevant to the local market.
Organisers described the event as a major milestone in Pakistan’s journey toward a sustainable and competitive olive industry, noting increased private sector interest and stronger links with international projects. Attendees exchanged practical knowledge on production techniques, processing standards, and market development to enhance the country’s olive value chain.
The Olive Gala continues over the next two days with exhibitions, expert sessions, product showcases, and knowledge exchanges focused on innovation, quality, and growth. The programme aims to translate discussion into on-the-ground improvements for farmers and enterprises across Pakistan’s olive sector.
