The Open Sindh Pickleball Championship 2026 commenced at the Mini Sports Complex, Nazimabad, Karachi.

KARACHI: The Open Sindh Pickleball Championship 2026 commenced at the Mini Sports Complex, Nazimabad, Karachi, alongside the inauguration of a new pickleball court at the venue.

The two-day championship, organised by the Sindh Pickleball Association, is being held from August 1 to August 2 and has brought together players from across Sindh to compete in one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.

The opening ceremony featured the formal inauguration of the newly built pickleball court at the Mini Sports Complex. Mr Maqbool Arain, President of the Pakistan Students Olympic Association, and Mr Azmat Pasha, President of the Karachi Students Olympic Association, attended the ceremony as chief guests.

According to the organisers, players from Karachi, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas and Sukkur are taking part in the event. A total of 10 female and 12 male players are participating in the championship, along with independent athletes in the open categories.

The tournament includes men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles, and mixed doubles events.

The matches are being supervised by Mr Junaid Raees and Mr Shariq Siddiqui to ensure fair play and smooth conduct of the tournament.

Mr A. Samad, President of the Sindh Pickleball Association, and Ms Shazia Pirzada, Secretary of the association, were also present on the occasion. They welcomed the athletes and supported the conduct of the matches.
