Osman Shoukat, president of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led an RCCI delegation to a lavish dinner hosted by Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh. The gathering brought together officials from the US Department of State, media representatives, prominent business figures and members of the Pakistani community.
At the event, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh highlighted the resilience of the Pakistani nation, noting that Pakistan has faced and overcome numerous challenges throughout its history. He described Pakistan–US relations as historical, important and constructive, and emphasized the need for closer political and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Sheikh reminded attendees that Pakistan remains among the countries most affected by terrorism and continues to bear the burden of that struggle. He urged deeper collaboration to address regional security concerns and stressed Pakistan’s key role in promoting peace and stability across the neighbourhood.
Osman Shoukat underscored the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening economic ties and representing business interests in international dialogue. The RCCI delegation used the occasion to engage with US officials and community leaders on opportunities for enhanced trade and cooperation.
The ambassador reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to play an effective role at regional and global levels, a message that resonated with business leaders and the Pakistani diaspora present at the dinner. Participants described the evening as an important forum for advancing mutual understanding and practical cooperation.
