PAF and UAE Navy Strengthen Defence Cooperation

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, received Major General Humaid Mohammed Abdullah Alremeithi, Commander of the UAE Naval Forces, at Air Headquarters in Islamabad to discuss evolving regional security dynamics and strengthen defence cooperation through joint training and enhanced military-to-military engagement.

The leaders reviewed regional security challenges and explored new avenues for collaboration, with particular emphasis on joint exercises and training initiatives designed to improve interoperability and operational synergy between the two countries’ armed forces.

Air Chief Marshal Sidhu outlined a forward-looking vision to transform the Pakistan Air Force into a modern, agile, and technology-driven service. He highlighted ongoing upgrade programs across cyber, space, artificial intelligence, electronic warfare, and aerospace domains as central to that transformation, and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to expanding defence cooperation with the UAE, especially in training and joint operational exercises.

Major General Alremeithi thanked the PAF for its warm reception and praised Pakistan’s indigenization efforts, noting the force’s homegrown capabilities, technological progress, and operational readiness. He described the PAF’s combat-proven doctrine and multi-domain experience as valuable assets for regional and international partners seeking to strengthen their own capabilities.

The UAE commander expressed strong interest in conducting joint exercises with the PAF and said the UAE Air Force is keen to participate in training initiatives hosted in Pakistan. He emphasized that such collaboration would foster mutual learning, enhance interoperability, and deepen the brotherly ties between the two nations.

Both sides characterized the meeting as a reaffirmation of their shared commitment to address common security challenges and to further consolidate bilateral defence and military cooperation across multiple domains.
