The opening ceremony of Pak Turkey friendship week, organised by the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, was held at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in Islamabad. The event brought together government and diplomatic representatives to mark the start of a week-long cultural and educational exchange.
Huzifa Rehman, Minister of State for National Heritage and Culture, attended as the special guest and underlined that Pakistan and Turkey share historical, cultural and brotherly ties. He urged young people to work together through cooperation and innovation to meet future challenges, emphasising the role of youth in sustaining the Pak Turkey friendship.
Turkey’s ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Irfan Neziroğlu, also attended and thanked the Prime Minister and the Prime Minister’s Youth Program for organising the event. He said Pakistan has always maintained warm and strong relations with Turkey and expressed his commitment to further strengthening those ties through initiatives that deepen people-to-people contact.
Members of the organising team, including MNA and PM Youth Program focal person Syeda Amina Batool and focal person Syed Zeeshan Naqvi, warmly received the guests and were praised for the arrangements. Guests toured a photographic exhibition that traced Pak Turkey historical relations, featuring rare images of shared monuments, cultural heritage, bilateral cooperation and notable leadership meetings. The exhibition prompted appreciation for the long-standing friendship between the two countries.
Syeda Amina Batool said the objective of Pak Turkey friendship week is to strengthen ties in youth, education, culture and innovation, adding that such activities serve as encouragement for the younger generation. Syed Zeeshan Naqvi noted that the Prime Minister’s Youth Program is actively promoting educational and cultural exchanges between Pakistan and Turkey, with youth serving as a bridge for deeper engagement.
Organisers confirmed that Pak Turkey friendship week will include a programme of cultural events, exhibitions and seminars across Islamabad aimed at reinforcing people-to-people links and creating new opportunities for collaboration in the years ahead.
