Sialkot-based Pace Sports founder Tehseen Abbas represented Pakistan at Alibaba.com CoCreate 2025 in the United States, using the platform to highlight Pakistan’s potential as a leading apparel sourcing destination. A verified Alibaba.com seller for more than a decade, Abbas made his U.S. trade show debut and addressed changing buyer behaviour and the rise of data-driven apparel sourcing.
Abbas told attendees that more than 80 percent of his company’s revenue is generated through Alibaba.com and that the response from U.S. buyers was overwhelmingly positive. “Attending CoCreate 2025 was a valuable opportunity to showcase Pakistan’s strengths on a global platform,” he said, adding that Alibaba.com’s AI tools will help SMEs like his grow more quickly in the coming years.
Alibaba.com executives used the summit to unveil next-generation artificial intelligence tools aimed at reshaping global trade. Company research cited at the event shows that 63 percent of SMEs now seek AI solutions for cross-border business. To meet this demand the platform introduced Deep Search, a procurement tool capable of interpreting complex natural-language queries and image-based searches simultaneously and drawing on Alibaba.com’s 280 million product listings to deliver relevant supplier and product matches.
“AI isn’t a luxury. It’s survival, especially in B2B, where high-stakes decisions demand innovation,” said Alibaba.com President Kuo Zhang at the summit, noting that user behaviour is evolving beyond simple keyword searches. For Pakistani manufacturers and exporters, especially Sialkot sportswear firms, these developments signal a shift toward faster, more precise sourcing and stronger access to international buyers.
The participation of Pace Sports and its founder added to Pakistan’s growing profile at global trade forums, underscoring how digital tools and e-commerce ecosystems can support export expansion and strengthen the country’s role in global apparel sourcing.
